Humans are born with the capacity to respond and find joy in creative expression. It is out of this innate responsiveness that art and dance therapy were founded. If you were in a position to leave a bequest to help change the life of a child or adult through creative arts therapy, we would be so grateful.
How would a bequest help DTNZ?
As DTNZ receives no statutory funding to support the work we do, a bequest from you will make a permanent difference to the people DTNZ supports including those with high needs or facing major life challenges – and you can decide how you would like your gift to be used. Here are some of the ways your gift could work:
- support a child or teen with special needs to have weekly group dance therapy sessions for six months or longer
- enable an adult attend a dance therapy programme in the community
- provide workshops to parents of children with special needs attending mainstream schools
- support a group of high needs, at risk students to receive art therapy at school to prevent violence, bullying and suicide
- pay for registrations and costs for attendance at arts therapy or dance therapy conferences
- cover the cost of supervision for our therapy team
- purchase art materials or dance movement equipment
- pay for venues at one of our outreach dance or art therapy locations for six months
- help cover our operational costs
